Research Interests
It has been established that the physical properties of conjugated polymers are related to the structure of the polymer, and are also strongly influenced by the morphology of the polymer. As organic chemist we have an opportunity to optimize the properties of our polymer via synthesis. Some projects that we are currently working on are:
- Development of efficient methods for the synthesis of rod-coil block copolymers.
- Synthesis of "smart" polythiophenes for use as biosensors.
- Synthesis and characterization of monodisperse conjugated oligomers.
- Synthesis of novel low-band gap polymers.
